Dogs Available for Adoption

May 8. 2006

Worf: M, DOB 5/28/02 – My breeding – Base x Kira (7 of 9’s pup). Worf has been neutered and debarked. Worf is my Klingon dog, and was one of the cheerleaders on the team, always barking to go again after a brief stop. Steady, solid, and hardworking is he is a little shy and doesn’t always want to run for another driver. Worf injured himself this year and didn’t make the team. He needs a special family that will take the time to work through the shyness and let him get to know them. Once you have worked through the shyness he is an affectionate companion.

Keiko: F, DOB 5/28/02 – My breeding – Base x Kira (7 of 9’s pup). Keiko is a young, happy, hard driving, fast, girl who has been leading since she was a pup. As a two year old she is rapidly becoming one of my main leaders. She is an active happy girl, just a little bit shy and totally devoted to me. She is the dog in swing as a yearling on the 2004 Two Rivers team photo. Kieko finished the Iditarod in 2006, but has not wanted to run lead the entire year. In 2007 I had to drop her in Skwentna because she had trouble keeping up with the faster team. For the right recreational driver I think Keiko would lead again. If not she will make an affectionate pet.

Rom: NM, DOB 5/28/02 – My breeding – Base x Kira (7 of 9’s pup). Rom is another cheerleader running anywhere from wheel to lead. He sets a good pace and drives well in lead – he is the dog running beside Keiko in swing in the 2004 team photo. Like Worf, who he frequently runs beside, Rom is making an excellent wheel dog. Just have to see where I need him most. Rom finished the 2006 Iditarod, but a nagging back problem kept him out of the 2007 team. Rom needs either a spot on a recreational team, or a family to love, or both. He is a very sweet, affectionate dog.
